40th Anniversary Staging

From one small-town bank to a trusted community partner — Green Belt Bank & Trust has spent four decades helping locals grow, give, and thrive together.

Rooted in Local Vision
In 1986, local entrepreneur Merle “Rocky” Weaver purchased a small community bank and renamed it Green Belt Bank & Trust, as we are known today.
What began as one location and 20 employees was built on a simple promise — to help neighbors reach their financial goals while strengthening the towns they call home.
Discover Our StoryBuilt on Trust. Growing with Heart.
Over the years, our commitment to community banking never wavered — even as the organization grew from $59 million in assets to more than $740 million and expanded across Hardin, Franklin, Grundy, Butler, Wright counties, and beyond.
Each new branch opening wasn’t just a sign of growth — it was a deeper investment in the people, places, and partnerships that define our story.
Built to Last. Designed to Evolve.

Vision and leadership have guided us since the beginning.
From Rocky Weaver’s entrepreneurial spirit to today’s leaders, dedicated employees, and board of directors, we continue to uphold the values that started it all — integrity, service, and heart.
Leadership. Strength. Growth. Community.
Dedicated to serving and partnering with our community and your financial needs.
Our Story Isn’t Over — It’s Just Getting Stronger
For 40 years, we’ve built on trust and a commitment to growth— helping people, businesses, and communities thrive for generations.

— CHRIS WEAVER, OWNER & CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD —
The growth and success of our customers, our communities and our families, is what sustains and motivates us to keep reaching and looking for new and innovative ways to improve our business. We do that urgently and consistently, with the long term health of all we serve in mind. Our commitment, driven to action, is delivered each day through the values we embrace. We champion working professionals that understand, embrace, and exemplify our values. These values, to some, may seem out of date or cliché; values such as community, camaraderie, servant-leadership, and integrity. But our customers see it. They feel it. They buy into it. Once that happens, those relationships grow and thrive over time.
There is nothing cliché about proven success. We are humble enough to accept we have to keep learning, keep reaching, and keep working to become better. But with that, we find opportunities to improve our business and what we can do for our customers. Delivering that to them consistently, that is our way. That is the Green Belt Way.
